#28 Lady Hokage’s Curse

The chase seems to have stopped since Sasuke was once again gone. Naruto still urged him to follow to a better life. “If we don’t get out of here she’ll kill me!”

“You think she would really kill?” Sasuke asked.

“She will. You heard what she said she’d do to Orochimaru.” Naruto said. Sasuke sighed. “Sasuke we’re finally free from her, isn’t that what you wanted? To be free with me?”

“I wanted to be with you but not like this. She loves me so much and could never stand to part with me. I suppose being free is nice though, but she will keep looking for us until she gets me back.” Sasuke said.

“Well let’s at least have some fun being free before we have to go back to that kind of life.” Naruto said.

“Yeah. Maybe she’ll never find us hu?” Sasuke stifled a smile.

“Yeah! We’re free! She’ll find another baby to look after. Maybe she’ll take Deidara’s baby.” Naruto cheered.

Sasuke laughed. “Of course she will he has to hand it over to her anyway.” He took a deep breath of this new feeling. “Freedom feels good.”

Itachi had returned to Lady Angel’s home. “Where is my kunoichi? Where is she? She should be here.”

“I haven’t seen her, yeah.” Deidara answered.

Itachi became worried. “My kunoichi what if something happened to her? Its my fault.” He dropped to his knees and sobbed. Itachi blamed himself for not getting Sasuke back this time.

“Itachi danna…” Deidara looked sad as well. “She’ll be okay, she has to be she’s one of the Hokages and we’ll be seeing a baby soon, yeah.” Deidara looked up he was unsure of what could possibly happen right now he needed help. He was new to this and didn’t know how to handle any situation should one come up without her. “What am I going to do, yeah?’

Kakashi entered the room he knew all too well that a lot was going on and needed some information. He still didn’t trust these criminals and wondered if they might be up to something. “What happened here? Where is the Lady Hokage?” he asked in a demanding tone.

“Naruto ran off with Sasuke, Lady Angel went after them along with Itachi now he’s back and I’m afraid she hasn’t returned, yeah. Itachi is worried about her, yeah.” Deidara said.

“That means trouble.” Kakashi shot off out the door.

“Itachi maybe you should go too, she’ll listen to you sense she does love you…when you find her, yeah.” Deidara said.

Itachi nodded. “If someone touches her I’ll kill them where they stand.” On his way out Itachi grabbed a robe. “Angel where are you?”

“What do you want to do now?” Naruto asked.

“Maybe we should put some clothes on.” Sasuke suggested looking down at his boxers.

“Oh right. I think I see a shop with clothes over there.” Naruto pointed to a nearby shop.

“Great let’s go.” Sasuke smiled. “So what will we be free to wear today?”

“I don’t know what do you want to wear?” Naruto asked.

“Something dashing, something cool. You know what would look good? Leather.” Sasuke smirked.

“Leather? Yeah! Let’s try some on.” Naruto said.

“That took little effort.” Sasuke commented.

“What took little effort?” Naruto wondered.

“Naruto you’re an idiot.” Sasuke said shoving him.

“Am not! You try on something first. Maybe something tight.” Naruto said.

Lady Angel was sitting under a tall tree at the exercise grounds where the young shinobi came to practice. “Since her “baby” has been taken away who knows what might happen.” Kakashi said.

“At least she doesn’t have any weapons on her.” Itachi said remembering the only thing she had on was his cloak.

“She might not have any right now, but don’t forget this is Konaha village home to many ninjas. Which means at any point she could get some or someone could drop some near her.” Kakashi said.

“Really? I couldn’t imagine anything like that happening.” Itachi said. That sounded more like sarcasm to Kakashi.

Lady Angel spotted a forgotten kunai stuck in one of the posts out there. She got up from her spot under the tree and walked over to the post pulling the kunai out then returning to sit under the tree. “Stupid Naruto ruined everything.” She cut her arm.

“Trust me these things do happen. Strange things happen when there is a Hokage involved.” Kakashi said.

“So why are we dragging around talking? GO FIND HER!” Itachi shouted. That was a first, he never shouts.

“Lady Angel!” Kakashi called.

“Where could she be?” Itachi worried.

“Humph.” Lady Angel cut herself again.

Kakashi ran to the exercise grounds. “Lady Angel!”

Itachi had followed. “Could she be here? I don’t sense anything.”

She put her head down. “Don’t find me.”

Kakashi was first to spot her. “Lady Angel!” He ran to her. “Do you have any idea how worried you have made everyone? What if something had happened to you?”

“I sense coldness.” Itachi said walking over to her. “ A cold body.” Which in a way made sense. Her heart was cold and broken; she had cut herself and was loosing blood.

“Something did happen. My Sasuke is gone, my time with Itachi was ruined, and I can’t stand to be here. It’s so painful.” she said.

“I know Deidara told me. We have to keep looking for them. I’m sure there has to be some ninjas that have seen them.” Kakashi said.

“Come.” Itachi put his hands on her shoulders looking at her sorrowful face.

“Get away from me! If I can’t have my Sasuke then I don’t want you. For I tell you this and let it be a curse to the whole village. The rains will fall on Konaha, the sky will be clouded, and no sun will shine until my Sasuke comes home.”

“We’ll find them Lady Angel.” Kakashi said pushing Itachi away. “I think she means it.”

“No impossible. She only loves me, right?” Itachi said looking slightly sad.

Lady Angel looked at Itachi but said nothing to him. “I don’t want to look when I went after them and they just ran away again” She looked at her blood covered arm. “I give up.” The sky filled with dark rain clouds, blocking the sunlight and leaving the village in darkness.

“Itachi we’ll have to work together, as much as I hate that. But she might stay this way and never love anyone. Now move it!” Kakashi demanded.

Itachi slowly moved away from her. “…My kunoichi…”

The rain started to fall lightly on the village. “I was happy with you Itachi for a brief moment, things were okay but…” she trailed off and sobbed.

“Sasuke! Naruto!” Kakashi said angrily.

“What can I do? She doesn’t want me; I guess I’m not welcome in her home anymore. All because of my foolish little brother. I should have killed him when I had the chance.” Itachi complained.

“Then she would have never met you.” Kakashi said. There was silence as the rain started to fall harder. “Itachi, look if we don’t find Sasuke soon this rain will kill everyone! So stop feeling sorry for your bi ass and help me on this mission. Or are you too weak and stupid?” Kakashi said.

Itachi clenched his fists and walked off in a direction to start his hunt.
